About Local Mingle

The clubhouse chalkboard, online: draw up the games, pick the teams, keep the score.

What it is

Local Mingle has five free tools for running games and small competitions: a tournament bracket maker for single and double elimination, a round-robin schedule generator, a balanced team picker, Swiss-system pairings with standings, and a big-screen scoreboard. They are made for five-a-side leagues, table tennis ladders, chess clubs, quiz nights, school sports days and family games.

How it works

Every tool runs in your browser. Names you type, results you enter and scores you keep are worked out on your device and never uploaded. Your current bracket, schedule, teams, Swiss event and scoreboard are kept in your browser's local storage, so a reload or a lost signal does not lose them, and each tool has a button to clear them. Once a page has loaded it keeps working offline.

The methods

Each page explains how it works: standard seeding for brackets, the circle method for round-robins, snake drafts and swaps for teams, and the tie-breaks used in the Swiss standings, with a link to the regulations they follow. Your event's own rules always take precedence.
